Here is another project I was given the opportunity to be a camera operator. This was very professional production and was Directed and Edited by Eldon Van Aswegen.
I was one of five camera operators and would like to thank Eldon and Jamie O’Brian for giving me the opportunity. This one really inspired and exposed me to a professional environment and has me even more excited about developing and branching out into the HD Video Format.
Thanks and be sure to check it out. Great song “Mr Mandela” by Trenton and The Free Radicals

Its been a while since I’ve posted a Photo Blog, but wanted to share a few Video shoots that I have been involved with. I am developing a interest in this format and hopefully will be mixing it up more in the future.
On this particular shoot I assited Bolivar Andres as a Camera Operator for this behind the scenes of Panamanian Surfer and Model Pucha Garcia for her 2012 Calendar Shoot. Shot on location around the Bocas Del Torro Islands in Panama.
This was my first dabble as camera operator and I really enjoyed it.

Howsit Everyone
Some folks might be wondering why I went so quite on the updates, especially since I was in the middle of a Indo Season. Well my laptop decided to die on me and I have just managed to get the repair done on the motherboard, so I’m back on the program.
In the first week of September myself and a few friends took a two trip back to the Mentawai’s and stayed at the Mentawai Surf Camp. We were blessed with some amazing sessions and super nice food and lodgings. Thanks to Diego and Dave and all the staff for the epic time we had out there. Here are a few images for you to browse from that trip. Hope you enjoy!

Howsit Everyone
Wow lots has happened since I last posted, I’m going to have a ramble today.
I had a sudden fever/chills come on for a few days and thought nothing of it, as I had experienced this many times over the years coming to Indonesia. The day before I was due to leave back up to the Mentawai Islands I decided to pop into the doctors to see if I needed any antibiotics or anything, I explained my symptoms and he went through the routine checks which included a Tourniquet test on my arm. The doctor then suggested that I had contracted Dengue fever and that I should send blood sample off for tests. Anyways to cut this long story short I had to cancel the trip and the next seven days I was resting up in my hotel and going to the clinic for daily blood tests to monitor my blood count. I had contracted a milder strain as I was not admitted to hospital or put on drip etc. I just had to stay in bed and keep hydrated and eat as normal as possible and see the cycle of the fever through.
Once I had recovered I linked up with another two South Africans who were keen for a road trip to Lombok and Sumbawa , I was ready to get back out there and get surfing and shooting again, cos I had just spent ten days not feeling the best and wanted to see that in the rearview mirror.
Anyways we made the mission and had a relaxing time and saw and scored a few amazing waves along the way. The only thing I would like to mention is that I bumped into another South African Jamie Nye out on Lombok and unfortunately he had quite a serious accident while surfing(his surfboard smashed his nose and eye) and had to be evacuated to hospital on Lombok and then airlifted to the Bali International Medi Clinic for treatment.
A day after my arrival back in Bali I was feeling great and next thing you know I get struck with the same fever/chills as before. I went back to the clinic for blood tests, I also went to visit Jamie and he was in good spirits and had been treated but was going to head home for further treatment. (I prefer not to comment on the details) I wish him all the best and a speedy recovery and look forward to crossing paths somewhere in the future.
I am now resting up and waiting to see what the results are from my blood tests before I decide where my next surf mission will take me. I hope it is just some relapse of the first fever and its working its way out my blood system.
Anyways here are a few images from this last little trip.
Hope all well out there and everyone making their dreams reality

Howsit Going out there? I’ve just gotten back to civilization after several weeks in the Boondocks of Indo surfing, shooting and chilling hard.
I linked up with West Coast cruiser Jaco Steyn and his father Kosie for a jaunt around Mentawai doing the local land camp thing instead of the usual charter boat trip.
We were blessed to score and see some amazing waves and experienced a mixed bag of world class Indo perfection and some flat days where I did more reading than I have in many years.
All in all great time was had. I would like to thanks the Indonesian people for their great hospitality and the Roaring Forties for sending some epic long period groundswell to the nooks and cranies of the Mentawai Islands while we were out there.
I will showcase some of my favourite images from several spots we got working with various a mix of traveling surfers reaping the rewards.
Hope you enjoy and have a epic week!
There are more adventures to come as I will be doing various missions around Indo this season chasing perfect waves. See keep a lookout for updates.

Howsit Going
It’s been a busy few weeks, I finished off my South African leg of my travels with a road trip from Cape Town to J Bay via the Garden Route. Fun waves and good times were had and it was a great ending to my six weeks back in South Africa. I then flew to England and went straight into serious study mode to prep for my MCA Engineering Oral Exam. The moment I walked out the exam centre with a pass I was rather chuffed and made plans to head to to Castle Donington with some buddies to attend the Download Festival which is one of the worlds best Hard Rock Festivals. I had a great time watching bands and drinking beer and general Rock n Roll mayhem. The Brits know how to throw a Rock Jol for shure!
Anyways now I am on the doorstep of the next adventure which will take me to surf Mecca of Indonesia for the next three months. I am looking forward to it to get some perfect waves. I will be going “under the radar” occasionally and will be blogging as the trip progresses.
Hope everyone is well out there and trying to make those dreams reality whatever it may be!
Laters and hope you enjoy a few frames from the J Bay shoots

A quick stopover in London town then a six week visit to Sunny South Africa.
It’s been busy with family galavanting but i’ve managed to sneak a few surf and shoots into the mix.
Ill leave the ramble to a minimum and let you check out some frames from London and South Africa over the last few weeks.
It’s also nearly time for me to head to the UK to do a big yacht engineering exam. As soon as that is complete I will be heading to the Mentawai Islands in Indonesia for a full season galavanting, surfing and shooting in the surf mecca of the East! Super Ampt!

Howsit Innit!
I’m currently sitting somewhere in London Town as a type this Blog out, a quick stopover for a few days before I head down to South Africa.
The last week in Galapagos was very chilled, the waves were there, but the go to spots had bad wind direction, so I found myself doing other things like swimming with turtles and trying to get some worthy frames of these real cool creatures of our oceans.
On my last full day, I headed out to one of the nearby reefs and shot some frames of my local buddy and other local surfers.
Hope you enjoy the last batch of images from the Islands.
I would also like to thank all the locals for sharing their playground. Adios!

Howsit here goes another blog update from Galapagos Islands.
This weeks has had a medium sized swell and been getting my fair share of surf and also been swimming and shooting with my 5omm prime lens and having some fun trying to capture a few frames. I also linked up with one of the top skaters on the island and being experimenting shooting night time skate action with my strobe and pocket wizards, tricky mickey but enjoying it and hope to dabble a little more when I arrive in Cape Town. So any skaters out there hit me up and lets go shoot!
Yesterday I managed to get caught inside on the boil at the local reef, I had three top to bottom double overhead nuggets land squarely on me and the end result is a broken surfboard and nice hold downs testing my lung capacity. LOL! Damm!
Anyways next weeks forecast looks really good and hoping to score some surf on borrowed equipment and of course when the conditions permit I will be swimming with the rig trying to get some unique frames.
Thats all for now, until next week
